  18. Those of you who have seen the Wordz leaflet will see a 'button bar' of 
  19. the most often used commands such as Bold, Justify Text, etc.  I have 
  20. been asked if something similar exists for PipeDream.  The answer is 
  21. that you can make your own 'button bar' as a set of PDCmdFil (macros) 
  22. such as those shown in Figure 1 below.

  24. On the monthly Archive disc I have included both PipeDream 3 and 
  25. PipeDream 4 versions of the macros shown (with Pd4 icons) in the 
  26. screenshot.  If you have contributions to such a PipeDream button bar 
  27. then please send them to me on a disc.

  29. I include new versions of two ([Quote] and [Ligatures]) that have 
  30. appeared before.  [Quote] converts single and double quotes into the 
  31. 'smart quotes' (leading and trailing quotes).  I have added 'phone to 
  32. the PDCmdFil in the Pd4 version.  [Ligatures] combines separate f i to 
  33. a joined fi and f l to fl.  By the way, does anyone know how to stop 
  34. the dialogue boxes appearing after each Search and replace command?

  36. Provided that you have set a global font the two PDCmdFil (macro) 
  37. called [Homerton] and [Trinity] will enter those fonts into your 
  38. document at the cursor.  Some of you will have these on <Ctrl Shift F#> 
  39. funtion keys but, if you have been converted from key short cuts to 
  40. using the GUI (graphic User Interface - the mouse) then you will find 
  41. these two PDCmdFil a useful alternative.

  43. To see what is inside a PDCmdFil you do not double click on it but you 
  44. must 'drag' it to the PipeDream icon (the one installed on the icon 
  45. bar not the one in an open directory window).  You can save such a 
  46. PDCmdFil in the ordinary way using <Ctrl FGS> or by clicking on the 
  47. PDCmdFil called [Save] from this directory.

  49. If you have RISC OS 3.10 then you might want to keep some of the 
  50. contents of the Toolbar directory on the PinBoard for easy access.
